The summer months will bring some Xiaomi-flavored news, with the unveiling of the Redmi Note 17 family – at least as far as China is concerned; they will arrive here later. Now, for the first time, we can take a look at the alleged design of the series, which seems to be moving toward a sharp change in style compared to previous generations.
The images above show the aesthetics of the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 15 Pro, while below and on the cover you’ll find the new models of the series. These are leak images, so take them with caution. Redmi Note 17 base is the model on the right, equipped with a single camera; the device on the left, with a dual camera, would be Redmi Note 17 Pro.
The look change is very pronounced, with a squared module housing inside a capsule that resembles the iPhone 17’s – complemented by the LED flash. According to rumors so far, there will be four smartphones: in addition to these two, there should also be Redmi Note 17R (Chinese variant of Redmi 17 5G Global, still unreleased) and Note 17 Pro Max (instead of the usual Pro+).
There are still doubts about the release: typically the series debut in China happens in August, but this year there are rumors of a double event. The two models Pro and Pro Max are expected to arrive in July, while for the standard versions there would be a second unveiling scheduled for August.
Regarding the international release, we assume the mid-range will reach us later, perhaps in January 2027.
Over the following weeks, some rumors about the entire series have emerged: the Redmi Note 17 is expected to mount a flat OLED display of 6.83" 1.5K and perhaps the Pro versions would also have the same display.
Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, while charging power is rumored to support 67W (but details about battery capacity are missing). The Redmi Note 17 Pro would mount the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and a colossal 9,000 mAh battery.
For both, there would be a 50 MP main camera, stereo speakers, and water resistance. The real star will be Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: Flat OLED 1.5K display, Dimensity 7500, 10,100 mAh battery and a 200 MP sensor.
