Samsung has decided to place robotics at the center of its strategy: the company has announced the creation of the Robotics Experience (RX) Business Promotion Office. The new division is dedicated to the development and commercialization of robotic technologies and will operate directly under the supervision of CEO TM Roh.
The goal of the Korean powerhouse is to concentrate expertise and resources into a single entity, in order to accelerate innovation and stimulate growth for the coming years.
Samsung bets everything on robotics: RX division established under the leadership of CEO TM Roh

The new RX Business Promotion Office will bring together the expertise developed so far by Samsung’s various divisions, creating a centralized organization dedicated to research, development of key technologies, and their subsequent commercialization.
The leadership entrusted to TM Roh, already head of the DX division, aims to accelerate the company’s response to changes in the market and to strengthen Samsung’s competitiveness in one of the most promising sectors.
The operating center of the new division will be the Seoul R&D Campus in Umyeon-dong, which will host laboratories and offices dedicated to robotics. At the same time Samsung will develop an international research network with hubs in the United States, China and Japan, the main markets of the current tech landscape.
The company will also establish a data factory at the Gumi complex, intended to collect real data needed for training the robotic systems used in the plants.
Factories first, then the consumer market
Regarding humanoid robots for users, Samsung will follow a gradual path.
The initial objective is to use the new robotic technologies within its own plants, with the aim of transforming all facilities into autonomous factories based on artificial intelligence by 2030, a strategy similar to the one announced by Xiaomi in recent months. Only after consolidating its position in the industrial sector will Samsung extend to the consumer market.
Among the fundamental development areas there are also robotic hands, developed through a specialized laboratory that has collaborated with several companies to develop dedicated actuators and advanced manipulation systems.
To accelerate growth further, Samsung will also continue to invest in startups and acquisition deals, following the path already taken with the entry into Rainbow Robotics, of which it became the principal shareholder in 2024.
