Will the Galaxy S27 Ultra have a new design? Maybe, but not the one you think

Although there are still quite a few months to go until the debut of Samsung’s new flagship series, rumors about future models continue unabated. The leaks so far have outlined the technical profile of the flagships and revealed the addition of an unprecedented Pro variant.

Among the most widespread rumors is that of a style change for Galaxy S27 Ultra: the flagship model of the lineup is expected to introduce a new aesthetic language that looks to the series’ past. However, the most recent rumors slow down and proceed with caution: there could be a change, but don’t expect a stylistic revolution.

Earlier rumors suggested a return to a past style, with a horizontal camera module in the style of the Galaxy S10+ and a final design partly close to the Google Pixel series.

The reason behind this change would not be purely aesthetic, but also functional: the next top-of-the-line should introduce integrated-magnet charging (like Apple’s MagSafe) but the current vertical module would prove too bulky.

Now a Korean insider is correcting the course: Samsung would actually be testing various design concepts, but none of these would use the horizontal layout. In fact, the Galaxy S27 Ultra should introduce a major change, moving from the current Quad Camera to a triple camera.

So the style change would concern the positioning of the three sensors on the back, but the tech giant would not be inclined to change the look entirely. The future flagship should continue with the approach Samsung has used so far with the Ultra family: small aesthetic changes, without upheavals.

In short, there will be an aesthetic and functional novelty but it will concern the absence of a camera sensor and, at least for now, the brand has no intention of changing the design of the Ultra series.
