Once again REDMAGIC has created a real gem: the tablet features compact dimensions, is easy to hold and is equipped with refined metal and glass finishes. Astra 2 is equipped with a liquid cooling system visible on the back, thanks to a portion of the chassis. The rear also hosts reactive and customizable RGB lighting.
As for the first chapter, the Chinese company has chosen to focus on compact form and portability. The tablet features a 9.06″ OLED display with 2.4K resolution, a refresh rate up to 185 Hz and a touch sampling rate up to 2,000 Hz, maintaining a 90.10% screen-to-body ratio and slim bezels of 4.9 mm.
Clearly we are talking about a top-of-the-line gaming tablet, equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from Qualcomm. The SoC is accompanied by the co-processor RedCore R4, designed to improve performance and responsiveness of games, ensuring stable frame rates.
The autonomy is powered by a battery of 8.300 mAh with support for fast charging up to 75W; the tablet is equipped with dual USB-C ports, to simplify charging while gaming.
The revolution of active liquid cooling
REDMAGIC Astra 2 is the first tablet equipped with the AquaCore cooling system, the same used for the brand’s latest high-end devices. The core of the technology is based on a three-stage heat-dissipation process that works in perfect synergy to extract heat from the center of the system.
In the initial absorption phase, the device uses Liquid Metal 3.0, an ultra-conductive and non-corrosive medium placed directly between the SoC and the vapor chamber that enables instantaneous thermal transfer.
Subsequently, the diffusion phase leverages the circulation of a liquid fluorinated AI-level liquid and a large 3D vapor chamber, to distribute heat dynamically and tridimensionally.
Price in Italy (and where to buy)
The new REDMAGIC Astra 2 arrives in Italy in midsummer, at a starting price of €699: the gaming tablet is purchasable directly from the brand’s official store, with shipping from European warehouses. The higher-end version, with 16/512 GB of memory, is offered at €799; both configurations are available in Eclipse Black and Starfrost Silver.
