Edge 70 Max in official teasers: it will be the first Motorola with magnetic charging

Motorola has kicked off publication of teasers dedicated to the new Edge series smartphone, and a novelty is quickly confirmed. The next Motorola Edge 70 Max (this should be the name, although for now it is still uncertain) will be the first model from the brand equipped with support for magnetic wireless charging, thus with magnets integrated directly under the chassis.

The official images published by the company aim to keep a veil of mystery, showing only part of the phone’s design. In reality, a bit of magic is enough and the look is revealed in a flash, revealing straight edges and a squared camera module that echoes the style of Edge 70, 70 Pro and 70 Fusion. Frontalmente, i teaser mostrano uno schermo piatto con un punch hole centrale.

Among the posters there is also one dedicated to the NPU performance for AI-related activities, along with a surprise: the device supports the wireless magnetic charging, a detail that had already emerged earlier thanks to the Wireless Power Consortium certification (which indicates the presence of the Qi 2.2.1 standard).

As also highlighted at the outset, Motorola Edge 70 Max will be the brand’s first phone with the magnets integrated under the chassis, in a way similar to Apple’s MagSafe technology and Google’s Pixel Snap on the latest Pixel 10.

For now Motorola has not revealed any further details, but leaks point to this: the device should have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on board, while the camera system would be based on Sony’s 50 MP LYT-710 sensor.

The smartphone is expected to debut in three colorways (green, azure, and black) and is set to debut in India. It remains to be seen whether it will arrive at our latitudes as well, so fingers crossed.
