Huawei’s July Innovations: Pura 90s Pro, MatePad Air, and FreeClip 2 S

Next week Huawei’s summer event for the Global markets will take place, with plenty of novelties. Initially the Chinese tech giant had limited itself to the new smartphones of the Pura series, but now, after confirming the series name, here are some additional details about the other products that will be announced.

The event is scheduled for July 14, and besides Huawei Pura 90s Pro and 90s Pro Max there will be room for a new ultra-thin tablet and a pair of open-ear earbuds from the FreeClip series.

It isn’t clear the reason for this name change, yet the Chinese Pura 90 series will become Pura 90s in the Global version. The meaning of the letter “s” isn’t clear, but the company has confirmed the debut of both Pura 90s Pro and the higher-end Pura 90s Pro Max. The standard model is not mentioned, so it’s likely that only the two higher-end devices will be present.

Official teasers show the new vibrant colorways of the series, with some featuring gradient tones: for the Pro model there will be colors Guava Soda, Orange Soda, Coconut White and Mulberry Black while the Pro Max variant will debut in Orange Ocean, Blush Gold, Blaze Purple and Graphite Black.

Below you’ll find a comparison between the specifications of Pura 90 Pro and 90 Pro Max launched in China; likely Global versions will have much in common with these, but it’s reasonable to expect some changes.
