Last year the Chinese tech giant wowed everyone with its foldable notebook, a premium device equipped with the HarmonyOS for PC proprietary system.
And now it’s time for a new model with Huawei MateBook Fold 2026: the company has unveiled the presentation date of the laptop, along with the design and the color options available at debut.
The launch event is set for August 5, but — as is usual for all the brand’s special devices — it will be a novelty destined only for the Chinese market.
There is no name change, instead: the device will debut simply as Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Edition (2026), like the previous model. The design does not seem to shake things up: according to rumors from the past weeks we should find the large 18″ OLED foldable screen seen on the first MateBook Fold.
When closed, the device measures about the size of a 13″ laptop while the technical side should be based on the new Kirin X9-series chipset.
While waiting for the launch event, Huawei published a new teaser that shows the design and color options: Phantom Black and Sky White are the classic colors, to which the new Flowing Gold version (with a gold chassis) is added – replacing the blue model from the previous generation.
The laptop features a sober and minimalist style; the only exception is a vegan leather section that adds a touch of class to the overall design of the device.
From some official images, the presence of stylus support has also emerged: the foldable notebook can be used with the M-Pencil, useful for taking notes and drawing.
