While all eyes are fixed on Robot Phone and on its technological novelties (with an emphasis on photographic capabilities), Honor has revealed the presentation date of its next software version. MagicOS 11 is on track and we will discover all the details in the hottest month of summer!
The UI will be based on Android 17, while the first phones to have it on board from the debut cannot help but be the flagship models of the Magic 9 family (expected in October).
The presentation event for MagicOS 11 is set for 6 August: the announcement comes soon after the launch of the beta phase (in China), with a teaser that seems to preview the main novelty.
The poster highlights the Liquid Glass style and, based on what has emerged previously, the interface aesthetics should be refined with greater visual coherence and more user customization options (especially regarding the translucent effect).
For now the announcement concerns the Chinese market, and there is still no date for the global unveiling of the new software version.
The move to the current UI version meant the debut of a new transparent design, AI features, more advanced photography tools and greater compatibility with Apple devices.
With MagicOS 11, Honor doesn’t seem to want to overhaul things, but we can expect an even more distinctive style featuring translucent elements (Dynamic Liquid Glass), as shown by the official images themselves. Clearly there will be new features derived from Android 17 and we can expect further attention to artificial intelligence.
As of writing, Honor has not yet published the official list of supported smartphones. However, in recent days the beta program in China has started, dedicated to the foldable Magic V6 and the Magic 8 family models: Magic 8, Magic 8 Pro, Magic 8 Pro Air and Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design.
We await details from the Asian company and, in the meantime, here is a provisional list of likely candidates (to be taken with caution).
