Galaxy Watch 9 revealed ahead of its debut: here are the designs and colorways

After taking a first look at the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 model, it’s now the regular series’ turn. Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 is shown for the first time thanks to press renders, the result of a leak. The design doesn’t seem very different from that of its predecessor: apparently the tech giant has opted for a conservative approach to aesthetics, with no major novelties (at least on the look front).

The wearable’s images come from the usual insider OnLeaks, one of the most reliable around, so we can consider them practically official. From what is seen, the watch will have a style identical to that of Galaxy Watch 8: the series has now adopted the cushion design of the Ultra lineup, characterized by a AMOLED round display inserted in a squared-off case.

Along the right edge there are two physical buttons, while in terms of sizes we will have versions of 40 mm and 44 mm. The first will be available in Cream and Graphite colors, while the larger model in Silver and Graphite tones. Again there will be both a Bluetooth-only variant and LTE connectivity.

In terms of sensors we don’t expect additions or upheavals; the only hardware novelty concerns the switch to Qualcomm. No Exynos chipset, but we’ll have the Snapdragon Wear Elite (similar to the new Ultra 2 model).

Price increase on the horizon

There are no concrete clues about the final price yet, but a rise of at least $50 on each version is expected. It remains to be seen how possible increases will translate to the coming models in Italy: the current Watch 8 starts at €409 for the 44 mm (Bluetooth-only) so we can expect a figure around €450. Obviously this is only a guess and the final word lies with Samsung.

Regarding the debut, the summer Unpacked event should take place in London, apparently on July 22. The company has not yet revealed the date of presentation, so we await confirmation.
