Galaxy S27 Pro: Is Samsung preparing a battery-related surprise?

Samsung seems intent on expanding its offer for the next generation of high-end smartphones, introducing as many as four variants on the market.

Beyond the traditional base, Plus and Ultra models, rumors point the spotlight on an unannounced Galaxy S27 Pro.

This device aims to respond to the needs of a very specific user segment—those who want top-tier specifications packed into smaller dimensions than the Ultra variant, choosing to forgo the S Pen.

The latest information regarding this new mysterious smartphone points to its battery: the company could surprise us.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro: the battery could surprise

The most interesting novelty of the Galaxy S27 Pro would concern energy management. According to the latest leaks, the smartphone will feature a display of about 6.5 inches and will house a 5,000 mAh battery.

If this information is officially confirmed, the device would match the capacity of the higher-end models of previous generations, such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

This significant increase would be a direct consequence of the absence of the S Pen. Without the need to create an internal housing for the pen, a feature long exclusive to the Ultra series, Samsung engineers would have leveraged the internal volume to integrate a significantly larger battery module, ensuring autonomy similar to the most expensive model despite the overall more compact dimensions.

The hardware profile of the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to be extremely competitive. Under the hood should sit the powerful processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, paired with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and starting from a base of 256 GB of storage.

The camera system will feature high-quality specifications for photography enthusiasts: the rear module will boast a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a telephoto, also 50 MP, with 3.5x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the front will host a 12 MP sensor.

The device will support ultra-fast networks Wi-Fi 7 and the Bluetooth 6.0 standard, in addition to integrating UWB and NFC, essential for digital payments and for precise object localization.

Data transfer and power will go through a modern USB 3.2 Type-C port.

Finally, to adequately support the generous 5,000 mAh battery, Samsung would have planned a wired charging system capable of reaching 60 W, thus ensuring significantly reduced waiting times.
