The system uses three microphones per earbud and real-time adaptive cancellation, able to adjust the intervention based on external noise. Of course, as with ANC, the real result depends heavily on fit, the tip chosen and the type of surrounding noise, so I always recommend first trying the fit with the included tips, and then delving into the details of noise cancellation.

Good attention to calls: the OPPO Enco Air5 use a triple-microphone system with AI-based noise reduction, designed to isolate the voice better in noisy environments, and while this can sound a bit metallic when noise suppression increases, the final result for the listener is still more than good. Also to mention is the gaming mode with low latency, with claimed values up to 47 ms on the earbuds and 94 ms on the entire chain with OPPO-compatible smartphones.

Autonomy

The autonomy is one of the most convincing data points of the OPPO Enco Air5, with up to 13 hours of playback on a single charge and up to 54 hours in total using the case. Realistically, considering I tend to listen to music at max volume (I know, I shouldn’t!) and with active noise cancellation on, the real-life autonomy settled at about 7 hours per charge for the two earbuds, a decidedly exceptional figure for the price range.

Interesting also is the longevity: the TÜV Rheinland Battery Health certification confirms maintaining at least 80% of battery health after 1,000 cycles. It’s an important detail because often with true wireless earbuds the real limit over time isn’t the audio quality but battery degradation after months or years of use.

For charging, OPPO indicates about 55 minutes for the earbuds and about 90 minutes for the earbuds plus the case. The port is USB-C, now the most convenient and universal standard.

The Enco Air5 standard, instead, seems the most balanced model for those who want noise cancellation, good autonomy and a more aggressive price.
