The San Diego-based company has officially announced the coordinates of its highly anticipated Snapdragon Summit 2026, using an image published on its Instagram profile to confirm that the event will take place in the stunning setting of Maui, Hawaii, from September 22 to 24.
The autumn conference of Qualcomm traditionally marks the moment when the company unveils the high-performance processors that will drive the next generation of laptops, tablets and, particularly, premium smartphones entering the market.

The rumors preceding the event suggest a notable technological leap, with the probable debut of the 2 nm manufacturing process designed by TSMC. The event’s main speakers are expected to be two new top-tier semiconductors: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and its even more advanced iteration, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
The leaked specifications paint a picture of top-tier architectures. The base model is expected to feature an eight-core CPU capable of operating at up to 4.4 GHz, paired with an Adreno 845 GPU with 12 MB of dedicated graphics memory and support for LPDDR5X RAM.
The Pro variant would raise the bar by pushing the maximum compute frequency to 5 GHz, integrating an Adreno 850 GPU with 18 MB of memory and potentially opening up support for the very latest and fastest memories LPDDR6.
The economic issue and three-nanometer alternatives
However, the hottest topic of the year could move away from pure computing power to embrace strictly commercial themes. The production costs of processors, RAM and solid-state storage continue to rise steadily.
There is a solid fear that the outlay required to integrate these cutting-edge chips could push up the list prices of smartphones, deterring consumers and nullifying the performance advantages.
Precisely to mitigate these risks and offer a more flexible catalog to smartphone manufacturers, it seems Qualcomm plans to present two other high-end components, this time based on a more proven 3 nm production process.
It would be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX Edition and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro, solutions designed to ensure an optimal balance between excellence performance and more sustainable integration costs.
The September conference, finally, could prove to be the ideal opportunity to delve into further recent group innovations, such as the Reality Elite platform for headsets introduced earlier in the month, closing the loop on a year particularly dense with announcements for the chip giant.
