In recent days, Pete Lau’s company has begun publishing the first teasers dedicated to the new N series, focused on the budget segment. The goal is clear: to bring the manufacturer’s entry-level range back to life, on hiatus since 2024. The big return will come with OnePlus N6, good news given the rumors of crisis around the Chinese brand – and yet we welcome it with a note of bitterness given the lack of news for the Italian and European markets.
After the mid-range Nord 6, followed by Nord CE 6 and CE 6 Lite, now it’s time to think about the base. The new budget phone OnePlus N6 will arrive on June 30 in India and the official teaser finally lifts the veil on the design.
The phone continues with the aesthetics of the latest models in the Nord family, adopting a squared camera module and a minimal and elegant look. The poster reveals the colorways Black and Green while technical details for now remain a mystery.
According to earlier leaks, the price should hover around 20,000 rupees, about €181 at the current exchange rate. The new N6 has the task of challenging rivals such as Redmi, POCO and Realme, a highly aggressive competition.
While the Indian division announces the debut of the new budget phone, in Italy everything is quiet. The brand’s latest phones date back to last November, i.e. OnePlus 15 and 15R, not exactly an encouraging sign for the European market. The fact that OnePlus is consolidating its presence in India (going after a new price bracket) while completely ignoring Europe, is thought-provoking.
The rumors of layoffs in the European division and the rumors about a possible withdrawal from some Global markets are part of the rumor mill, but the complete absence of new smartphones at our latitude is a fact. We’ll see how things unfold and in the meantime keep our fingers crossed!
