Xiaomi HyperOS 4 will have a Liquid Glass touch: an image leak reveals it

The style shift of iOS 26 was among the most controversial in Apple’s history: the new Liquid Glass introduced a refined glass-inspired design, but the price to pay was very high in terms of screen readability.

Cupertino has progressively improved accessibility, and meanwhile various Chinese brands have begun implementing translucent elements within their respective interfaces.

Xiaomi has performed well in the transition to the current version of its proprietary software, but now a new clue suggests that HyperOS 4 could intensify the Liquid Glass-style additions.

The novelty is revealed by a stolen screenshot from a current beta version: clearly the image may not be truthful, so it’s best to proceed with caution. The screenshot shows a new option that would allow you to activate and deactivate the glass effect in HyperOS 4.

On the one hand we have a clearly translucent shade, while you can soften the effect by choosing the second option. In this case the Liquid Glass-style effect would appear much more delicate, with a prevalence of opaque elements.

Clearly it’s wise to wait for official details, even though there are many hints in favor of a style change. The rumors so far talk about a new design with significant changes in favor of a more elegant aesthetic. It also seems that the Leica color palette will be integrated.

Meanwhile Google has announced the new The Android Show: the OS mascot robot has become translucent, a detail that could indicate the introduction of a style close to Apple’s Liquid Glass. Mountain View has promptly denied it, and yet the glass mascot continues to raise questions.

Perhaps we won’t have to wait long to discover the truth about HyperOS 4: according to leaks, Xiaomi could bring forward the release of its UI to June, in conjunction with the release of Android 17 stable.
