After the debut in China, Redmi Watch 6 makes its appearance on Xiaomi’s official Global site, leaving the door open to distribution in a larger number of countries. The device has begun to appear in Europe starting from Poland: this is certainly an important hint for the launch in our latitudes, and it will also be available in NFC version.
Style and features of the new model borrow heavily from the previous Redmi Watch 5, but with several improvements. We see a large AMOLED display of 2.07″ with AOD and a 60 Hz refresh rate, while peak brightness rises to 2.000 nits — for better outdoor visibility in bright sunlight.
The Redmi Watch 6 aesthetic continues to favor the squared form factor, with an aluminum body and a slightly curved protective glass at the edges, details that contribute to a premium feel. The strap is silicone, available in black, white and blue, the latter only for the standard model.
Other features include a 550 mAh battery (for up to 24 days of autonomy), Bluetooth call support and over 150 sports modes. The NFC version allows you to use contactless payments while both models have GPS integrated.
Regarding price, it starts from about €105 at the current exchange rate, while Redmi Watch 6 NFC is priced at about €117: remember the devices were announced in Poland, so prices may differ in other countries. It remains to be seen whether Italy will have room for both versions and, in the meantime, keep our fingers crossed for the NFC version.
