The month of May is all about Xiaomi, with the Chinese launch of the flagship 17 Max and the arrival in Italy of the 17T series. Were looking at the flagship line and to the parent company, but behind the scenes work is underway for the upcoming Redmi and POCO smartphones.
Among the upcoming novelties there will also be Redmi Turbo 6 Max, a device that promises to surpass the predecessor’s capabilities with a colossal battery. Now a new leak reveals more details about the specifications, foreshadowing what should be our POCO X9 Pro Max.
The two Xiaomi brands have a very close relationship and often POCO-branded models are alternative versions of Redmi. The Chinese phone Redmi Turbo 5 Max arrived here as POCO X8 Pro Max, albeit with a slightly reduced battery (from 9,000 mAh to 8,500 mAh).
Consequently, the latest rumors about the upcoming smartphone for the Asian market are of interest to us as well. According to the insider Digital Chat Station, the future Redmi Turbo 6 Max would feature a large 7″ diagonal screen with a resolution 2K.
The prototype would be equipped with a flagship chipset from the MediaTek Dimensity 9 series, built on a 3 nm process. The current Redmi and POCO devices mount the Dimensity 9500s, so the successor could keep the latter SoC or opt for the Dimensity 9500.
Moreover, it is claimed that we will be dealing with a Battery Phone with 10,000 mAh, lower than previous rumors. Initially there were rumors of a 12,000 mAh solution: it is likely that this prototype is still in development and may find space in the future.
The launch of Redmi Turbo 6 Max is expected by the end of the year or at the latest by early 2027. Consequently, the release of the POCO X9 Pro Max should take place during the third quarter of 2027, although for now the timing is still premature.
