The mega Huawei event saw the debut of several product categories: in Italy we had wearables from the Watch Fit 5 line Watch Fit 5 while in some European countries the new Nova 15 Max made its appearance. The presentation also featured the debut of a brand-new flagship tablet: Huawei MatePad Pro Max isn’t just a jewel for productivity and entertainment, but also the thinnest tablet in the world!
The newcomer has blown away the crown from Honor MagicPad 4: the 4.8 mm thickness of the latter has been beaten by the Chinese rival. Huawei MatePad Pro Max is slim and lightweight, with a chassis of just 4.7 mm and a weight of 499 grams.
The whole package maintains a unibody metal shell and a large OLED PaperMatte display of 13.2″ with 3K resolution and a refresh rate up to 144 Hz. Thanks to the combination of PaperMatte technology and peak brightness of 1,600 nits, reflections are minimized, with maximum visibility even under intense sunlight.
Among other specs, an extra-large 10,400 mAh battery and a 50 MP main camera stand out. Note that the European model ships with a 9,760 mAh unit. The tablet supports a keyboard and a stylus, while the Asian tech giant promises PC-level productivity (and thus a desktop-like experience).
Huawei MatePad Pro Max debuts in the United Kingdom at a price of £999.9, roughly €1,156 at the current exchange rate.
