The Chinese company has announced the opening of the beta program dedicated to Android 17: the star of the show is Honor Magic 8 Pro, the company’s latest flagship. The device is among the first to support Android 17 Beta 3, allowing developers (and more experienced users) to test the new features of the new version of the Android OS.
Honor Magic 8 Pro: Android 17 Beta program kicks off

The arrival of Android 17 Beta 3 unlocks a range of features affecting both multitasking and ease of use, as well as improvements in photography (and more). The software introduces the new Bubbles, which now evolve into independent floating windows for any app. In this way it is possible to minimize any app into a floating window, invoking it anywhere on the screen.
The new beta version introduces native support for the RAW4 format, a key feature for a Camera Phone like Honor Magic 8 Pro – which allows to further improve its AiMage camera system.
The Quick Settings menu has been refined, the dark theme can be managed with maximum user customization, and there are improvements also in terms of privacy and security.
How to participate in the beta program
To join the Android 17 beta program for Honor’s new flagship simply check the official page. Here you can download Beta 3 to install on the device, along with all instructions and rollback details. As usual in these cases, please note that this procedure is intended for experienced users. The software itself might have stability issues since this is still an experimental release.
