The Xiaomi budget series continues with two new smartphones launched in India: these are POCO C81 and C81x, budget phones characterized by basic specifications and only LTE connectivity (which helps keep the price super affordable). We welcome these novelties, even though, upon closer inspection, we might already know the model that served as inspiration.
The two POCO phones present themselves as alternative versions of Redmi A7 Pro, also launched in Italy. While the debut here is not to be ruled out, in the future POCO C81 and C81x may arrive to enrich the budget range of Xiaomi’s partner brand even at our latitude.
At the moment the presentation is limited to the Indian market, where they are available at rock-bottom prices: the base model C81x costs only €90 at the exchange rate (3/64 GB) while the bigger brother C81 rises to €99 at the exchange rate (4/64 GB).
The differences between the two phones are minimal: POCO C81 features a 6.9″ LCD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while powering the whole is the Unisoc T7250 (a low-cost solution for budget smartphones).
The software is HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 while the battery life is entrusted to a 6,300 mAh battery with 15W charging. The dual camera comprises a 13 MP sensor and an unspecified secondary lens, while on the front (in the teardrop notch) there is an 8 MP selfie camera.
Moving to POCO C81x, only a few details change: the display drops to 6.88″ and the battery to 5,200 mAh. The camera loses the secondary sensor while on the software side Android 15 via HyperOS 2 is present. All other characteristics remain the same: below you will find the technical data sheets for both models.
