The new Xiaomi air fryer is extra-large and can steam-cook

Just a few weeks after its debut in China, Lei Jun’s company announced Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L (slightly larger than the Chinese model, 6.5 liters). The new air fryer debuts on the Global official site with a wide basket — ideal for preparing treats for the whole family — and many different cooking modes, including steam cooking!

The aesthetics of the new Xiaomi air fryer follow the usual style the brand has accustomed us to: simple lines, a minimalist design, and an elegant black finish. As mentioned in the opening, Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L supports multiple cooking modes, up to 10, with 25 preset recipes and the ability to use the Xiaomi Home app to discover new ones.

The fryer offers a temperature range from 40°C to 230°C, proving quite versatile for both low-temperature cooking and those more intense. Inside there is a 1.5-liter water tank for steam cooking: this is capable of reaching about 130°C to cook foods quickly and evenly.

The system is fully sealed and retains the steam inside the basket, while condensate water is removed internally. The result is a crispy and tender dish, without the risk of making it soggy (a plus also for cleaning).

The device also offers baking and is capable of heating, defrosting and even dehydrating foods. The front part of the basket features a 7-inch transparent window, so you can monitor the contents during cooking. All adjustments are made via a knob, which includes an LCD display to view all details.

The 7-liter capacity makes it suitable for the whole family: the Xiaomi lineup also includes solutions up to 12 liters, but in this case it still falls into the XXL category. At the moment the new Xiaomi Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L has appeared on the Global official site, however details on price and availability are missing.

The Chinese company has a lineup of fryers in Italy, so it is very likely that this novelty will also appear in our latitudes — we just have to figure out when.
