A few months after the latest rumors, we return to talk about Xiaomi 17 Max: the standard model should change its skin to adopt an extra-large format (as the name suggests). Now the device would have been certified for the first time in China, becoming much more tangible: we also know the release window, which seems closer than ever.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has certified a device labeled 2605EPN8EC: this is an unreleased model from Lei Jun’s company and according to insiders and industry insiders would be Xiaomi 17 Max. This should be a quiet moment for the brand, since in April the Redmi K90 Max will be launched and for the new foldable you will need to wait until the summer months.
Consequently, the only candidate for a surprise unit would be this alternative version of the latest compact flagship. The code seen in the SRRC certification carries the usual Xiaomi pattern: the numbers “2605” would indicate the launch window, i.e. May. There is always a margin of error due to internal timings, but overall it should not be long until release.
As we have already seen in previous leaks, Xiaomi 17 Max should be the link between the base model and the colossal 17 Pro Max (a new addition for this generation). The series consists of the standard 6.3″ version followed by the Pro with a rear screen and a periscope telephoto lens, but still with compact dimensions. The giant of the family would be the already mentioned 17 Pro Max, with its 6.9″.
Well, Xiaomi 17 Max (sorry for the repetition) would aim for the extra-large format but without the rear display, still with top specs and a huge battery – reportedly 8,000 mAh. Below you’ll find a first draft of the technical sheet, based on leaks up to this moment.
