Redmi Note 15 SE 5G official: it’s the refined new mid-range, here’s what’s changing

As promised, here Xiaomi has announced a special edition dedicated to its quintessential mid-range. Redmi Note 15 SE 5G arrives with an ultra-elegant style that doesn’t overhaul things, but introduces a more refined look and some technical differences. Here’s what changes with the new version, currently available only in the Indian market.

Redmi Note 15 SE 5G: what are the differences in the new Xiaomi mid-range version

The design of Redmi Note 15 SE 5G does not change aesthetically: the chassis is occupied by a wide camera module Squircle (a square that leans toward the circle) while the front houses a display with curved edges on two sides. The colors have been refreshed and the final effect is decidedly successful: the Crimson Reserve model is made in vegan leather, with a crimson color and a golden frame. This is the standout piece, but the variants Frosted White and Carbon Black are not to be underestimated.

The display is a 6.77″ AMOLED unit at 120 Hz and the SoC remains unchanged (it’s a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3). The first technical difference concerns the battery, which rises from 5,520 mAh in the standard version to 5,800 mAh, still with 45W charging.

The other novelty embraces the camera: instead of the 108 MP sensor, the main sensor is replaced with the Light Fusion 400 (the same as the Chinese Redmi Note 15 5G). It is a 50 MP solution with 1/2.88″ size and an f/1.8 aperture. The phone also loses the 8 MP ultrawide in favor of a 2 MP depth-sensing sensor. Xiaomi’s site does not mention optical stabilization, which is present instead on Redmi Note 15 Global and Chinese versions.

Below you can find the full specifications of the Xiaomi mid-range. Redmi Note 15 SE 5G debuted in India with prices starting from about €186 at the current exchange rate (₹19,999 for the 6/128 GB version).
