With the arrival of April, the debut of Redmi K90 Ultra draws nearer: this year the flagship is expected to arrive earlier than usual, with consequences also for the twin Xiaomi 17T Pro. Now the 3C authority certification also appears, indicating what the flagship’s charging power will be: once again we will be dealing with a Battery Phone of considerable quality (and fingers crossed for the international model).
The phone appeared under the code 2604FRK1EC, and the certification is dated March 31, so it is clearly recent. The device, identified as Redmi K90 Ultra, will feature support for 100W fast charging. This, combined with a large 8,500 mAh battery (silicon-carbon), will result in a smartphone that will also be a practical portable power bank.
The fate of the Global version remains to be seen, Xiaomi 17T Pro: as is traditional for the T lineup, we do not expect a perfect copy but there will certainly be differences. The previous Redmi K80 Ultra was launched in China with 7,410 mAh and 100W charging while our Xiaomi 15T Pro arrived with 5,500 mAh, wired charging of 90W and the addition of wireless 50W.
It is speculated that the new device 17T Pro will follow in the wake of the latter, thus with dual charging (wired 90W and wireless 50W). The big unknown is the battery: on one hand we know the legislative issues that cause various Chinese smartphones to arrive in Europe with diminished batteries; on the other hand we are witnessing an improvement in the situation.
The striking example is POCO X8 Pro Max, arrived in Italy with 8,500 mAh, against the 9,000 mAh of the Chinese twin Redmi Turbo 5 Max. So our Xiaomi 17T Pro could still be a solid power bank, perhaps 8,000 mAh instead of 8,500 mAh.
