As promised, here comes the new Gaming Phone from Pete Lau’s company: perhaps, however, it’s more accurate to talk about a flagship killer with gaming-oriented features, accompanied by an exceptional accessory. Alongside OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra the company has also unveiled its companion controller, equipped with four physical buttons and characterized by a slim and lightweight body (which harmonizes perfectly with the flagship’s lines).
The aesthetics of OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra are decidedly garish: it nods to classic Gaming Phones but without the typical excesses of the category, while maintaining the garish spirit. The dark Ace Awakening color is characterized by a finish with an iridescent effect: the striking purple word Ace is realized without LEDs but through precision engravings and light play.
The Metal Storm variant features anti-reflective glass with a texture that evokes the shine of titanium. The device features straight edges and a flat screen, with a central punch hole; the rear hosts a camera module in a square style, similar to the other OnePlus devices this year.
The BOE display is a 6.78″ OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a high refresh rate, up to 165 Hz. There is also room for an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader — underscoring the device’s premium nature. The company has also included the P3 Lite chip, dedicated exclusively to display performance.
Clearly, there is also an IP69K-rated waterproof chassis: this means the phone is protected from dust, water and high-pressure jets.
The heart of OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is the Dimensity 9500, MediaTek’s latest flagship SoC (rival of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5); OnePlus has added its own touch with the proprietary Wind Chase Game Kernel, integrated into the chipset, which improves gaming performance and reduces power consumption (ensuring a high and rock-solid frame rate in FPS).
To cool everything down we have a liquid cooling system with a vapor chamber, while the autonomy is entrusted to an extra-large silicon-carbon battery (8,600 mAh) with 120W fast charging.
The camera setup is essential, with a 50 MP sensor with optical image stabilization and an aperture of f/1.9, paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 16 MP selfie camera. The real highlight is certainly the OnePlus Strix G15 controller, with iconic design: initially it was thought to be a portable console, given its compact style. Instead, we are dealing with a pad that fits perfectly with the new Ace 6 Ultra, for the ultimate gaming experience.

The new OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra was launched in China starting from 12/256 GB, priced at about €438 at the current exchange rate (3,499 yuan). The top variant is 16 GB/1 TB, offered at about €638 at the exchange rate, or 5,099 yuan. The Strix G15 controller is sold separately at 449 yuan (about €56): this is also compatible with other phones, but if bought together with the latest Ace the price drops to only 50 yuan (around €6).
