Before the clash between the new generation flagship models there will still be quite a few months to pass, and yet leaks are not lacking. This time we return to talking about OnePlus 16, a flagship that is starting to take on more defined contours: now more precise details about the display are also added, and the overall picture seems almost complete.
As often happens, it’s the insider Digital Chat Station to offer us some additional details compared to what had leaked previously. The OnePlus 16 will also strongly target the display, but it seems that the dimensions will remain unchanged: similarly to the current OnePlus 15 there would be a 6.78″ OLED BOE display diagonal, with a 1.5K resolution.
This is a format that represents the right balance for manufacturers and users, as also emerged from a report indicating 7″ as the new standard for the second half of 2026. Returning to the flagship’s panel, it seems there will be an improvement in the refresh rate: the frequency is expected to rise from the current 165 Hz to 185 Hz as a minimum target. However OnePlus reportedly aims to offer up to 240 Hz, but for now there is no certainty yet.
The company would then aim to offer an even more immersive viewing experience thanks to the technology LIPO. This allows thinning the bezels around the display, and for the OnePlus 16 there are rumors of bottom bezels below 1 mm.
According to the insider, it will be a top-end display in every aspect and the rest of the hardware would not be an exception. This year Qualcomm may launch two versions of its flagship chipset, but OnePlus enthusiasts won’t be at risk: the flagship would mount the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975), the higher variant with support for LPDDR6 RAM.
Among the specs revealed so far we have an extra-large 9,000 mAh battery and a camera setup consisting of a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide, and a 200 MP periscopic telephoto (the latter would be a first for OnePlus).
The launch is expected for October while rumors anticipate a higher price due to the LPDDR6 memories mentioned.
