In the last two months, the brand Motorola has maintained an unusually quiet profile regarding the launches of new products on the global market.
The company has indeed revealed, in a targeted fashion, exclusively mid-range devices, introducing Edge 70 Fusion and its variant Fusion+.
This pause seems atypical for a manufacturer historically inclined to flood physical and digital stores with countless affordable options in the first months of each year. However, an imminent wave of devices is ready to make its way.
Motorola is preparing three new Edge 70s, there’s something for everyone
According to rumors recently spread by the well-known informant Evan Blass, the Edge 70 family will total no fewer than seven different models.
To date, users have been able to learn more about the standard model Edge 70, officially unveiled in October 2025. This particular smartphone has stood out for an extremely slim design, measuring a mere 6 mm in thickness.
To this device, the already mentioned Fusion and Fusion+ models were added, which, due to strong technical and aesthetic similarities between them, have largely gone unnoticed by the general public.
Ideally including the top-tier Ultra or Signature variant, there are still several key pieces missing to complete the offering.
The three new arrivals in the Edge 70 lineup
Attention is now firmly focused on the three imminent devices of the flagship line, expected to debut in the coming weeks in selected markets across Europe and Asia.
The internal code names within the company, namely Terrain, Terrain+ and Terrain Lite, correspond respectively to the Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Pro Plus and Edge 70 Pro Lite. The commercial nomenclatures chosen by the company, despite the apparent contradiction between Pro and Lite, hint at the positioning of each device and its target audience.
The Pro Plus model will undoubtedly represent the most technologically advanced and high-performance variant of the trio. Conversely, the Pro Lite version will aim to capture the most affordable price band, appealing to budget-conscious users without sacrificing the brand’s reliability. The Edge 70 Pro, meanwhile, will seek to offer the ideal compromise between performance and final cost.
It is entirely reasonable to assume that the Pro and Pro Plus variants will carry superior components compared to the Edge 70 standard. Consequently, prices are expected to be quite steep, although the inevitable move away from an ultra-thin design toward more traditional thicknesses could help mitigate the high production costs seen on the base model.
Beyond European borders
Although the data that have emerged outline the main offering for the current annual cycle, it is by no means excluded that additional minor variants will arrive in the near future, designed to follow the footsteps of previous commercial successes such as the Neo or Stylus declinations.
Parallel to the Asian and European releases, the company is preparing to refresh its offering dedicated specifically to the US market.
The anticipated Motorola Edge 2026, developed for the United States, could plausibly borrow technical characteristics and aesthetic elements directly from the international models just mentioned, creating a hybrid product tailored to the needs of that market.
Additionally, the premium segment of the market should soon welcome the new iterations of the company’s famous clamshell foldable devices.
The future smartphones Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra are presumably going to replace the equivalents from the 60-series. Although official release dates have not yet been revealed, the anticipation for the new generation of smartphones appears to be drawing to a close, promising a broad, diverse offering capable of covering every single need of the modern audience.
