Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max will be the most colorful Camera Phone ever

The Chinese tech giant has announced the presentation event for Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max: the pair of Camera Phones will be announced soon, and for the moment it seems the base model will be missing. Additionally, the absence of an Ultra version is notable; probably the features of this model will be included in the new Pro Max. Here are all the details on the devices’ release, along with official images and leaks about the specs.

Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max: first look at the new Camera Phones and presentation date (in China)

The presentation date of the Huawei Pura 90 Pro family is set for April 20, currently only in China. Very likely the series — or part of it — will also arrive in Italy, but of course we will have to be patient. The design of the new Camera Phones does not change compared to the Pura 80 series: we find the iconic triangular camera module with rounded corners, a form factor that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent (you either love it or hate it).

This time the Chinese tech giant has decided to change things up by offering a fresh and colorful styling, thanks to various bold tones. Long-time enthusiasts will surely remember the color options introduced with Huawei P20 Pro and P30 Pro: the new models seem like a revival of the past, with a striking yet always elegant final look.

For now the technical details are still scarce: probably the new Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max will be powered by the Kirin 9030 or 9030 Pro, while on the software side HarmonyOS 6.1 should be found. The camera department will be the main aspect of the series, apparently with the addition of a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens.

The images confirm both the presence of the periscope zoom and the multispectral sensor for color fidelity, an essential element for Huawei’s Camera Phones.

It isn’t to be excluded the return of one of the key features of Pura 80 Ultra, namely the variable telephoto: the sensor is capable of delivering an optical zoom of 3.7X or 9.4X, thanks to a two-lens system and a prism with a moving mechanism that allows switching from one lens to another. If this feature returns, we can assume it will remain exclusive to the Pro Max model.

The images above show the vibrant colors of both top-tier models. Huawei Pura 90 Pro will be available in the versions Orange Soda, Pink Guava, Mulberry Black and Coconut White, all vibrant and fresh. Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max will not be outdone with the variants Orange Ocean, Purple Sunset, Emerald Lake, Dawn Gold and Obsidian Black.
