Details continue to emerge about the various upheavals expected for Xiaomi smartphones, at least from a nomenclature perspective. Recently there has been talk of a generation jump for the main series – with the arrival of Xiaomi 26 – but the news wouldn’t end there.
In Lei Jun’s company’s future there would also be a rebranding of the Note family, with the launch of Redmi Note 17 Pro Max (the new flagship model of the lineup).
The Redmi Note Pro+ flagship could be retired with the next generation, according to a Chinese insider. Currently Xiaomi has presented – first in China and then globally, also in Italy – the Redmi Note 15 lineup, but rumors speak of a jump in numbering.
Instead of moving to 16 we should see the debut of Redmi Note 17 and the higher-end Pro siblings. This new strategy has already been anticipated by previous rumors but now the chatter is intensifying. However, the real novelty would lie in the name change for the flagship model: the Pro+ designation would be obsolete and this would be the time for the Max models.
We have also seen this with Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Redmi Turbo 5 Max, so it would not be surprising at all to also see Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. Unfortunately there are no details on design and specifications: for this information we will necessarily have to wait a little longer (and enjoy the current Note 15 family).
