While in China a new laptop and a premium wearable were announced, Xiaomi also has something in store for Global markets — or rather, for the Indian market. After several mysterious teasers, it was finally unveiled Redmi 15A 5G: the next low-cost device aimed at the latest-generation connectivity standard will be launched on March 27.
As of writing, Xiaomi has limited itself to announcing the date and design of the device. The look of Redmi 15A 5G does not resemble that of the phones launched so far by us, namely Redmi 15 5G and Redmi 15C 5G. However there are earlier rumors that perhaps manage to offer us some additional details, clearly to be taken with caution.
In reality the device should arrive in various markets under different names: Redmi 15A, Redmi A7 Pro and Redmi 17 5G. All of these phones would have a single origin, namely POCO C85x, announced a few weeks ago: we’re talking about a budget phone powered by the Unisoc T8300 chipset, equipped with a 6.9″ LCD display at 120 Hz and a large 6,300 mAh battery.
In short, the “new” Redmi would already have been unveiled — at least according to leaks. The low-cost device has been announced for the Indian market (March 27) but given the history it is very likely that it will also arrive in Italy; it remains to be seen under what name it will appear on our latitudes.
