The debut of the Galaxy S26 series is now behind us and in the Asian brand’s future there are several mid-range models and the upcoming foldables. In reality the rumors about devices in the Z lineup have been going on for a while and we are already able to outline an overview of what’s to come.
The latest additions concern the battery of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 but there is no good news: those waiting for an upgrade will remain dissatisfied since the brand’s usual conservative approach will strike once again.
It’s worth noting that so far the most traditional model in the series has been the Galaxy Z Fold: the battery has settled at 4,400 mAh for five generations while the brother Galaxy Z Flip has received an almost constant increase from model to model.
However after the jump from 4,000 mAh of Z Flip 6 to 4,300 mAh of Z Flip 7, things should stay unchanged for the next device in the family. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 would have two batteries labeled EB-BF776 and EB-BF777, respectively 1,150 mAh and 3,024 mAh.
This means the foldable will offer a nominal capacity of 4,174 mAh which will translate into the typical capacity of 4,300 mAh. Accordingly the new generation should not bring changes on this front. The good news is that given the optimizations of the Galaxy S26 series it’s likely there will be an increase in autonomy even for the flip phone.
Anyway there will be quite a wait: the new Samsung foldables are expected for the July Unpacked event, now a tradition.
As hinted at in the opening, this isn’t the first time Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 has been talked about. The design is still uncertain but likely there will be no aesthetic changes and the same should apply to some hardware aspects.
According to leaks the foldable would have the same camera module as Z Flip 7, namely a 50 MP main sensor accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 10 MP selfie camera.
However there will be novelties, both at the build level (with thinner profile and weight) and the addition of the latest Exynos 2600. Below you will find a first draft of the technical sheet, to be taken with caution.
