Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37: many small updates and 6 years of updates, starting from 6 449.90

Samsung has announced the new generation of mid-range smartphones, presenting the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 models.

The two devices share several core specifications and an approach centered on extending the product’s life cycle. Both smartphones, in fact, will receive 6 years of Android OS updates and as many years of security patches.

The new Galaxy A series reflects our ongoing commitment to democratizing artificial intelligence, bringing the latest innovations to a growing number of Galaxy users“, said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division of Samsung Electronics. “Thanks to Samsung’s core capabilities combined with enhanced Awesome Intelligence, Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G will offer reliable everyday performance for daily use to users around the world and will drive rapid AI expansion“.

Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 Official: specifications, release and prices

Analyzing the technical specifications, the Galaxy A57 5G features an optimized design compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A56. The new model appears thinner and lighter, going from a thickness of 7.4 mm to 6.9 mm and reducing the overall weight to 179 g.

A further refinement is evident in the bezels, which drop to only 1.5 and 2.5 mm.

Both the Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy A37 mount a 6.7″ display with a FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The A57 panel is classified as Super AMOLED+, while the A37 uses a standard Super AMOLED.

A clear improvement shared by both compared to the 2025 models concerns brightness: in addition to maintaining 1200 nits in High Brightness mode, they introduce a peak maximum of 1900 nits, useful for visibility under direct sunlight. There are also advances in durability, with the move from IP67 to IP68 certification across the entire line.

The main camera systems for the two smartphones revolve around a 50 MP sensor with optical image stabilization.

On the A57, Samsung has integrated an improved image signal processor and extended the capability to record HDR video also with the 12 MP front camera.

Completing the A57 package is an ultra-wide 12 MP module and a 5 MP macro sensor.

The Galaxy A37, on the other hand, updates the main sensor by introducing larger 1.0 micrometer pixels to capture more light, paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide module and a 5 MP macro.

From a software perspective, the smartphones incorporate tools based on what the company calls Awesome Intelligences (AI), including voice transcription, automated photo editing and the Circle and Find feature for visual searches.

As the device’s conversational agent, the updated Bixby allows intuitive control of Galaxy settings and features via natural language, while Gemini handles complex tasks across native Galaxy apps and some third-party apps, supporting faster and more intuitive interactions.
