Redmi 15A, Redmi A7 Pro and Redmi 17 5G: three names for one Xiaomi?

The Chinese company has a problem with smartphone names: it’s understandable to have variants of the same product, but in Xiaomi’s case – between Redmi rebrands and POCO – it’s quite difficult to navigate in the mid-range and budget phone landscape.

The latest evidence arrives thanks to an analysis of HyperOS code, which revealed the existence of three new phones. Redmi 15A, Redmi A7 Pro and Redmi 17 5G are three devices on the horizon, and yet they all share a single POCO in common.

Xiaomi continues its policy of infinite rebrands: the new POCO should become 3 Redmi smartphones

The trio to come would consist of rebrands of POCO C85x 5G, launched recently but only for the Indian market. The low-cost model should also appear in other countries and depending on the geographic area would have a different name.

In China it will arrive as Redmi 17 5G, the entry level of the next generation; it’s hard not to notice the jump from the 15 series to the 17 family, already teased by various rumors (and that would concern the entire Redmi range). Even if it’s not the official reason, many see a numerical alignment with iPhone 17: even the brand’s main line has jumped from Xiaomi 15 to Xiaomi 17.

In India and other Global markets there will be Redmi A7 Pro 5G and Redmi 15A 5G, probably with some minor differences. We also expect a debut in Europe and Italy: it remains to be seen what the identity of the device arriving at our latitudes will be. In the meantime here is the full technical sheet of the device that would serve as the base for all.
