The next REDMAGIC gaming tablet will be unbeatable with its 200 Hz display

During this year’s MWC, the Chinese company confirmed the launch of REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro: once again we will be dealing with a compact yet high-performance device, almost certainly coming to us as well (but under a different name).

The improvements should not be limited to the chipset, but there would be giant leaps forward also with regard to the display and the battery. In short, if you’re a mobile gaming fan, your dream tablet is getting closer.

As we write, REDMAGIC has limited itself to confirming the device’s release: there’s still no date and the first teaser does not hint at any specs or design. In the meantime the leak machine has started thanks to Digital Chat Station: the insider has revealed that the next tablet will once again be a flagship solution.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is a must, given the predecessor’s characteristics; moreover, the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will also be equipped with an OLED display. The tradition calls for a panel of around 9″ in diagonal, for a compact and powerful device.

Compared to the Gaming Tablet 3 Pro — as usual the number 4 is skipped for tetraphobia, typical of various Asian cultures — we should have an even smoother display. According to the insider we will move from the current 165 Hz to a 200 Hz refresh rate: the result will be a superior experience, with action scenes even sharper.

As might seem an excessive value for a tablet, it’s worth noting that many games now support 120 fps, so a high-refresh-rate panel is a valuable ally.

Finally, the leaker speaks of one of the most capacious batteries in the category: the current model packs an 8,200 mAh unit, so for the successor they are aiming at 9,000 mAh — in a compact body. Remember that REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 3 Pro arrived in Italy as REDMAGIC Astra, so there is a real possibility of seeing the new chapter also on our shores.
