Carl Pei’s company is preparing to launch the new Nord 6, but there’s also another novelty on the horizon. A certifying body has confirmed the existence of OnePlus Watch 4, the company’s next watch: the date is still missing and at the moment there are no teasers yet. However rumors are circulating and perhaps we already know everything about the new wearable.
The watch has been certified not only with its model number, but also with il nome commerciale. So the launch of OnePlus Watch 4 is certain, it remains to see whether it will arrive together with Nord 6 or if we will have to wait after the phone’s release. In the meantime an insider also reveals the first leaked details about the wearable.
The device would come with a 47 mm size and a 1.5″ AMOLED LTPO display. Driving the whole thing, the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, while on the software side Google’s Wear OS would not be missing. Among other features there would be a sizeable battery of 646 mAh and the IP69 rating against dust and water.
Past precedents aside, it’s not to be ruled out that OnePlus Watch 4 is a rebrand of the recent OPPO Watch X3, freshly launched in China. The specifications listed in the leak match those of the OPPO-titled model, and already the previous smartwatches from the two brands are united by style and technical features.
It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus watch will adopt a similar design, but it seems plausible: consequently we expect a circular display and a side protrusion, with two physical buttons.
