The upcoming March 24 will mark a milestone for enthusiasts, as the official launch in China of the new OnePlus 15T is scheduled for that day.
The company has chosen to keep the spotlight on its device by adopting a strategy based on the progressive release of specific information.
In the last few days, attention has focused particularly on the device’s multimedia capabilities. Through a recent post on the social platform Weibo, the leadership has officially announced the rear camera specifications, confirming the rumors that suggested an excellent configuration for a smartphone with rather compact dimensions.
Delving into detail, the rear panel will host a dual 50 MP camera setup. The main module will use a Sony sensor with a physical size of 1/1.56″, characterized by a focal length of 24 millimeters and essential support for optical image stabilization (OIS).
Beside the primary lens there will be space for a periscope camera with telephoto function. This secondary sensor will offer an optical zoom of 3.5x, accompanied by optical stabilization, and will be capable of reaching up to a magnification of 7x using in-sensor crop.
The proprietary LUMO system will handle the delicate process of image processing, a software- and hardware-based technology the company has chosen to showcase by releasing in advance some excellent test shots taken with the new telephoto lens.
The camera ambitions are not the only standout element of the OnePlus 15T. Despite the compact form factor, the specifications are among the most feature-rich you could ask for.
Performance will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a chip designed to deliver formidable computing power in any usage scenario.
To support such a processor we will find a battery capacity that is truly astonishing: 7500 mAh, a value decidedly unusual and higher than the average for this specific smartphone category.
Overall autonomy will be further enhanced by the fast charging options offered by the manufacturer: the device will support wired charging up to 100 W and fast wireless charging up to 50 W. Prospective buyers will also have the opportunity to take full advantage of a range of magnetic accessories designed to enrich and simplify the experience.
To conclude the technical picture unveiled so far, the smartphone will feature an AMOLED display of 6.32 inches. This panel will stand out for an exceptionally high refresh rate, capable of reaching up to 165 Hz.
The unveiling is just around the corner, the moment when the final questions about global commercialization and the price positioning of a highly anticipated product will finally be answered.
