When talking about air purifiers, people often tend to generalize, but the reality is that the usage context completely changes the experience. Living with pets means daily coexistence with fur, odors and an air quality that can vary significantly during the day. And it is precisely in this scenario that the Dreame AP10 Pet aims to stand out.
After several weeks of use in a real environment, with a constant presence of dust and fur, the impression is that you are looking at a product that does not aim for an immediate effect, but for a concrete and progressive improvement in air quality.
Before we begin, though, an important note about the photos in this review: the device is intentionally dirty. It is not a mistake and it is not neglect either. I chose to show it exactly as it was after about two weeks of continuous use in a part of my home that is particularly “difficult”: ground floor, outdoor garden and three dogs. I wanted to demonstrate concretely how much dirt the filtration system can really trap. And it’s precisely by looking at how the pre-filter and the collection chamber look that you understand whether a product like this is truly doing its job.
From a design perspective, Dreame has taken a very clear path: to make the AP10 Pet immediately recognizable, but without turning it into an out-of-place object in the living room. The champagne gold color differentiates it from the usual white or gray purifiers, while the dimensions of 370.4 x 370.4 x 561 mm give it a substantial presence, coherent with a product not born to stay hidden behind a piece of furniture but to work in medium-large rooms. The front digital display is clearly visible, the body is solid and above all I liked the 360-degree transparent fur collection compartment: it is not just an aesthetic choice, but a very concrete way to see how much stuff the filtration system actually captures day by day.
From the app you can also enable dedicated animal welfare features and better manage more specific usage scenarios. It’s the classic case where the app isn’t just there for marketing, but a fundamental part of the experience: without the app the purifier works, with the app you truly control it.
It should also be added that the Dreame AP10 Pet integrates voice control. It isn’t a feature that alone changes the product’s value, but it can be handy when your hands are full or you want to quickly adjust the device without getting close to it.
And now we reach the more distinctive part of the Dreame AP10 Pet, the one that makes it almost a hybrid between purifier and home accessory for cat-owning households. Among the more unusual features is the cat play mode with a red laser pointer, designed to stimulate the animal’s hunting instinct and make the device something more than a simple passive appliance in the home. It is a feature that can also be called from the app, which makes it more convenient and less gimmicky than it might seem at first glance.
Next to this, there is the Eco-Ambient light, which uses a soft glow designed to create a calmer environment, and there is also a whole constructive reflection on the relationship between the purifier and the cat: quiet operation in certain modes, the top surface usable as a raised spot, and the Bio-Comfort seat cover all work toward this goal.
Beyond the aesthetic aspect, the cat play mode is one of those features that may seem superfluous until you consider the product’s placement. If the purifier sits in a living room or a pet-used area, turning it into an interaction or observation point can make sense. It isn’t a feature that alone justifies the purchase, but it’s one of those additions that keeps the AP10 Pet coherent with its name: it doesn’t just filter the air in a home with animals, it also learns to live with them more intelligently.
One aspect I found interesting is the whole accessories and spare parts theme, often overlooked before buying a device like this, but very important to understand how sustainable a product remains over time. The box is fairly rich: in addition to the main unit and the filter cartridge, there are two primary filters, the manual, a colored cat house, a cat scratching post, and a cat teaser. It’s clear the brand aimed to build an ecosystem highly oriented toward pet homes, especially cat households.
The selling price of the Dreame AP10 Pet is 399.00 euros on both Amazon and the brand’s official site.
No, at least for now the official prices are quite reasonable. The dedicated deodorant costs 9.90 euros, while the high-efficiency replacement composite filter costs 7.90 euros, figures that are decidedly fair compared to many competitors.
Depends on what kind of home you have. If you live with animals and want a purifier truly designed for that context, it makes a lot of sense. If you’re looking for a generic and cheaper model for simpler use, then there are probably more suitable alternatives.
