MacBook Air equipped with the M5 chip has been officially announced: certainly among the world22s most popular laptops, the new model renews itself deeply, focusing on top performance, a massive integration of artificial intelligence and improved connectivity.

Available in 13- and 15-inch variants, the new MacBook Air maintains its iconic slim aluminum design, lightweight and fanless, ensuring maximum silence at all times.

The heart of the experience is the M5 chip, a concentrate of technology that integrates a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU powered by a Neural Accelerator in every single core. The new architecture makes the MacBook Air a powerful AI platform, with performance up to 4 times faster than the M4 chip and as much as 9.5 times quicker than the M1 model for AI-based tasks.

The unified memory benefits from a bandwidth of 153 GBps, 28% more than the previous generation, making multitasking smooth and opening applications almost instantaneous. Even the most complex operations, such as 3D rendering with ray-tracing in Blender or AI-assisted video optimization, are accelerated.

For the first time, the MacBook Air ships standard with 512 GB of SSD storage, doubling the capacity of the previous generation and offering configurations up to 4 TB. The new SSD unit is not only larger, but also twice as fast in read and write.

On the connectivity front, the device introduces Apple22s N1 wireless chip, enabling support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The system remains extremely versatile thanks to the two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which allow connecting up to two external monitors, and safe charging via the MagSafe cable.

On board we find a display Liquid Retina capable of reproducing one billion colors with a brightness of 500 nits. The camera Center Stage from 12 MP ensures perfect framing during video calls, while the spatial audio system with Dolby Atmos creates a three-dimensional sound immersion ideal for multimedia content.

The software side is entrusted to macOS Tahoe, which introduces the design Liquid Glass and deeply integrates the features of Apple Intelligence, with tools such as real-time translation in messages or intelligent automation of workflows via Shortcuts. For battery life, around 18 hours are claimed.
