Not only two flagship phones arriving in global markets, but the Xiaomi 17T series phones are also joining the lineup. This year looks set for an early launch, and the latest certification only fuels the possibility that the debut is almost around the corner.
The upcoming mid-range flagship has received a new certification from the IMEI body but this time something has changed. Previously the phone’s model code (2602EPTC0G) was present, but this time the whole thing is enriched with the commercial name of the device.
Thus the certification officially confirms the existence of the Xiaomi 17T Pro, this is the model name: after the 15T series the company will skip a generation, in line with what happened with Xiaomi 17. There will also be the standard version, coded 2602DPT53G and coming as Xiaomi 17T.
There’s also another interesting detail: the Chinese company usually indicates the release of a device within the model number. This means the launch could be scheduled for February, or at least in the coming months (in the first half of the year).
Typically the launch window for the T series is September, so this time it seems the Lei Jun-led company intends to revise its strategy.
The launch of Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra should occur by the end of February or at least during the Barcelona MWC (from 2 to 5 March). The Xiaomi 17T series could arrive alongside the flagship models or before summer, but this creates a gap in the second half of 2026.
The reason for this choice could concern the MIX series and the brand’s next foldable. We’re in the realm of hypotheses, with purely personal considerations: perhaps the second half of the year will be dedicated to the release of Xiaomi MIX 5 or Xiaomi 17 Fold, in arrival also for international markets.
