The debut of Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the standard model is getting closer for international markets. The Indian division has kicked off teasers with a short clip that confirms one of the Camera Phone’s features: a main sensor equipped with LOFIC.
The appearance of the teaser dedicated to the new smartphone indicates only one thing: Xiaomi 17 Ultra is approaching its debut and it’s almost here. The short clip published by the company does not reveal the device’s name but the flagship model is already official in China: it is the brand’s new model with HDR LOFIC integrated into the main sensor Light Fusion 1050L at 1-inch.
The LOFIC technology (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) drastically improves dynamic range and light handling, with zero trails and motion artifacts and a greater reduction in noise.
Inoltre il Camera Phone presenta un nuovo sistema di continuous optical zoom: unlike traditional systems that “jump” between different fixed focal lengths (e.g., 3x, 5x, 10x) using digital cropping for intermediate distances, the new 17 Ultra uses a moving-lens mechanism that works from 75 mm to 100 mm.
In this way it is possible to achieve greater fluidity in the transition between the different levels of magnification, a consistent sharpness and a reduction of noise typical of hybrid zoom.
To top it off, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra arrives with the new Leica APO lenses to correct chromatic aberrations. Probably the next official teasers will reference the other camera features ahead of the debut.
There is not yet a release date but according to the latest rumors it is possible that the Global presentation of the Xiaomi 17 series is set for the end of February. The Chinese company will be at MWC in Barcelona, the perfect stage to show Europe its new smartphones.
