In reality this is not the first sighting of the smartphone: the Global version of Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition has been certified with the code 25128PNA1G and the commercial name Leica Leiztphone powered by Xiaomi. Now it remains to be seen whether the international model will also arrive in Europe or if it will be limited to certain markets.

Waiting to learn more, the Global variant has obtained yet another confirmation thanks to Geekbench. The device appeared with the same code as above, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 16 GB of RAM and Android 16.

Fingers crossed and hoping it arrives in Italy: according to a well-known insider the launch event for the series is scheduled for the February 28 and in addition to Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra there would also be the Leica-themed special edition (destined for select markets, without specifying which).

In terms of specifications and design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition does not change compared to the classic model: however there are some aesthetic elements dedicated to Leica enthusiasts, along with a mechanical addition for lovers of traditional photography.

The special edition features a look inspired by Leica M cameras and is the only Xiaomi device to have the iconic red badge. Additionally the camera module is equipped with a rotating ring that acts as a physical zoom. Thanks to this hands-on you can take a closer look at the flagship.
