The Chinese company has launched internationally the new vivo V70 and V70 Elite, two high-end smartphones characterized by solid specs, a good camera system, and a proven design (but that still looks flawless). Here are all the details on technical specs, price, and release, while we wait to learn more about their debut in our region.
As usual, the new V70 series smartphones are inspired by the S-series phones, available in China — in this case the vivo S50. Specs and design are unchanged, but the Global version is equipped with optics Zeiss cameras; moreover the base variant with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 does not exist in China and is exclusive to international markets.
With the usual caveats, here are all the details of the new upper mid-range devices. vivo V70 and V70 Elite share a flat AMOLED 6.59″ diagonal display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. Compared to the predecessor, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader is introduced, faster and more reliable than the optical one.
With compact dimensions, the body is IP69-rated while the aluminum chassis of the 6-series contributes to a premium feel. The battery is a sizable 6,500 mAh unit with 90W FlashCharge fast charging.
The common features of the two phones also extend to photography: there is a 50 MP main sensor LYT-700V with OIS, accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide and a telephoto periscope lens of 50 MP.
What changes is the chipset: the V70 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the bigger V70 Elite targets the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Both were launched in India starting from roughly €428 and €483 at current exchange rates.
As for Italy’s launch, we are awaiting news: previous generations included the vivo V50 and V60 Lite 5G, so it’s very likely there will also be room for a model from the new V70 family. It has been confirmed that the vivo V70 will arrive in Europe, but for now there are no precise details for our country.
