In the tech sector, the ability to keep information secret about products in development is a fundamental aspect, but for giants like Samsung this mission seems to have become impossible.
Recently the Korean manufacturer decided to take measures to remedy this by introducing drastic steps to curb the leakage of confidential information that inevitably preempts every launch — as happened with the Galaxy S26 series. The great paradox? It is a leak that talks about a new anti-leak system.
According to a report, several branches of the Samsung group have implemented a new feature of secure chat within the company’s corporate messaging platform for employees; a real digital shield designed to lock down internal conversations and prevent sensitive details from ending up on forums or news outlets before time.
The new Samsung system incorporates extremely strict restrictions: within secure chats it is impossible to copy, paste, or forward messages to other recipients. Additionally, the company has completely disabled the screenshot function and prevented saving the conversation history on employees’ personal computers.
This update has involved the group’s main affiliates, and, in addition to protecting corporate data, formally aims to protect the privacy of the employees themselves. However, the effectiveness of such a barrier remains to be demonstrated, especially due to a paradoxical irony: the very news of the existence of this anti-leak system leaked to Korean media through internal sources, showing how complex it is to control the flow of information in an organization as large.
Although such restrictions may slow the circulation of official documents and act as a deterrent for employees, they nevertheless have no power over leaks from third parties or from Samsung’s complex global supply chain.
Moreover, the urgency of these measures is underscored by the current state of the upcoming flagship devices. Despite the efforts, the Galaxy S26 series seems to have almost no secrets left, with technical specifications and renders already widely circulating online despite the official announcement being scheduled for February 25.
Moreover, this is not the first time: with every generation of flagship, rumors arrive early, with many “certain” details. Samsung is not the only brand affected: Google also faces the same issues with every Pixel device launch, prompting the US company to consider a relocation of production.
