Beyond all limits: OnePlus 16 targets an edge-to-edge display with invisible bezels

The future of smartphones is increasingly all screen and OnePlus seems determined to lead the revolution. While the 15 series has already redefined the concept of thin bezels, the new leaks about OnePlus 16 raise the bar further, talking about almost invisible bezels, Gaming Phone features and high-end specs — in every respect.

OnePlus 16 will be the flagship with the most immersive display of the next generation

As anticipated above, one of the peculiarities of OnePlus 15 is its display with LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding): thanks to this construction technique the flagship boasts uniform bezels of only 1.15 mm on all sides, for a front that is almost entirely occupied by the screen — without the usual black borders.

According to the latest rumors from China, the next OnePlus 16 should do it again but by further improving the thickness of the bezels. For the future flagship model they talk about bezels of just 0.8 mm on all sides, a result we could describe as extraordinary.

Even though on paper it seems a tiny measurement, in reality the final visual effect should be exceptional for the front of the phone. On the one hand the aesthetic aspect would certainly benefit, with advantages also regarding immersion during games and videos.

The same insider also denies a possible gaming turn: despite some Gaming Phone features (such as a 240 Hz refresh rate), OnePlus 16 would continue to offer a clean design — without back-mounted buttons nor an integrated cooling fan.

Probably the reason for this clarification stems from rumors about OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra: despite the label connected to Camera Phones (Xiaomi 17 Ultra, vivo X300 Ultra, OPPO Find X9 Ultra), it should be a gaming flagship.

Awaiting to learn more — both about future OnePlus 16 news and the Ace model, closer in time — here is the presumed specifications of the flagship for the next generation. It is still very early, and yet the leakers have proven to be pretty charged since the start of the year.
