The company of Lei Jun has always placed great emphasis on the camera of its high-end phones but has always kept the best for the Ultra models. This tradition could end with the next generation: Xiaomi 18 Pro should have, on its side, a camera system worthy of a camera phone with two 200 MP sensors.
According to the insider Digital Chat Station, a Chinese manufacturer is working on a next-generation flagship with a camera system worthy of an Ultra. It talks about a main sensor of 200 MP, accompanied by a periscope telephoto lens of 200 MP and an ultra-wide (probably 50 MP).
The most likely candidate would be this very device, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, coming in a few months with a camera system that would not pale in comparison to the current Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The standard version of the flagship, however, should finally introduce a periscope telephoto (so far present only on the Pro models).
Returning to the bigger brother, Xiaomi would not be willing to give up the main feature of the current device: the rear display could return also in the next generation. Anyway there will be a long wait since the launch of the next flagship device is scheduled for September.
