With the debut of the Xiaomi 17 series – the 16th generation was skipped to align the lineup with the iPhone 16 – the devices in the T family should also undergo a generational leap.Xiaomi 17T will arrive during the year and after the initial rumors new details are emerging, this time about the cameras, battery and charging.
For the battery life side, the Xiaomi 17T is expected to feature a 6,500 mAh battery. This is revealed by HyperOS code, along with charging power — 67W. Based on what’s emerged, there will be an increase in capacity compared to Xiaomi 15T (5,550 mAh).
The software code has also revealed some details about the camera hardware: at the hardware level we’ll find the same as the predecessor, with an OVX8000 50 MP sensor, an OV13B ultra-wide and a Samsung S5KJN1 telephoto. This means that the device’s capabilities will be entrusted entirely to the ISP of the MediaTek chipset, probably the new Dimensity 8500 Ultra.
Moving on to the specs so far, the brand’s new mid flagship should be the Western counterpart of Redmi K90 Ultra. The latter is expected in China around April, so it’s not to be ruled out that the Xiaomi version could also find space earlier than usual, perhaps around mid-year rather than in September (the usual month for the T series).
Below you’ll find a first draft of the spec sheet, based on leaks so far. As for the Xiaomi 17T Pro, there will probably be more powerful charging, a better main camera and a periscope telephoto. However some rumors regarding the alleged Chinese twin Redmi K90 Ultra talk of a 10,000 mAh super battery: who knows if there will really be such a surprise!
