Xiaomi 17S Pro: the first certification reveals when it will arrive

Last year Lei Jun’s company kicked off a quiet revolution, with the launch of its new proprietary chipset. Xiaomi decided to opt for a progressive implementation, avoiding reckless rushes that could lead to undesirable results.

The first step has been taken, and the brand is ready to continue in this direction with the launch of Xiaomi 17S Pro: the debut will take place in 2026, and now a certification reveals when.

Xiaomi 17S Pro ready for debut: will be the new smartphone with a proprietary chipset

The “first” Xiaomi 15S Pro inaugurated a new era for the company: no upheavals nor steps longer than the lineup, but only the new XRING O1. This is Xiaomi’s new proprietary SoC, built on a 3 nm process by TSMC, with a pair of Cortex-X925 up to 3.9 GHz and the Immortalis G925 GPU.

The chipset proved solid and highly performant, turning what used to be a disastrous experience into a success. The phone has only launched in China, and it’s likely to take some time before we see a Xiaomi SoC in action globally.

For now the Chinese company continues to rely on Qualcomm and MediaTek, but if its chipsets pay off, it’s likely we will see a broader implementation.

In the meantime Xiaomi 17S Pro has appeared in the GSMA’s database with the code 2605EPN8EC. Knowing the brand’s techniques, we know that the numbers 2605 refer to May 2026: the flagship should debut in the same period as the predecessor, or at most in June. On board would be the brand-new XRING O2, but for now everything is quiet.

Unfortunately there are no technical details: for these we’ll have to wait for a more substantial leak.
