The smartphone market is gearing up to welcome a new protagonist, with India ready to lead the debut of the vivo X200T.
Following the initial rumors that emerged last December, a new leak has definitively lifted the veil on the device’s technical specifications, outlining a picture that points high.
At the heart of the new vivo X200T’s specification sheet is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a SoC that promises top-tier performance.
It also stands out for its software commitment. According to sources, the smartphone will arrive on the market with Android 16 preinstalled from day one. To make the offer even more attractive is the long-term support policy: the company seems intent on guaranteeing as many as five major OS updates and seven years of security patches.
A longevity that, if confirmed, would make the X200T a safe long-term investment, also supported by state-of-the-art connectivity technologies such as the Wi-Fi 7, the Bluetooth 5.4 and native support for the eSIM.
Photography remains one of vivo’s core pillars, and the X200T is no exception. The rear module relies on a triple-camera configuration, where each sensor boasts a 50 MP resolution, ensuring qualitative consistency across all focal lengths.
The main sensor is a Sony LYT-702, optically stabilized (OIS), described as “super photo sensitive”, designed to capture sharp images even in challenging lighting conditions.
Alongside it we find a periscope telephoto lens, presumably based on the Sony LYT 600 sensor, and an ultra-wide module using the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor. The entire optics are developed in collaboration with Zeiss, promising advanced features. For selfie enthusiasts, the front portion houses a 32 MP sensor, discreetly integrated into a display hole.
The visual experience is entrusted to a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (1260 x 2800 pixels). Under the display, vivo has integrated a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader, a technology generally faster and more secure than traditional optical sensors.
The design, which rumors suggest will closely follow the lines of the vivo X200 FE, will be available in colors Black and Purple, maintaining a sober yet elegant aesthetic.
One of the device’s most impressive strengths is undoubtedly its autonomy. Beneath the chassis lies a capacious 6,200 mAh battery, a value above the current average, supported by a system of wired fast charging at 90W and 40W wireless charging.
To manage temperatures during heavy usage sessions or fast charging, the phone is equipped with a vapor chamber heat-dissipation system. Additionally, the build features IP68 and IP69 certifications, ensuring full protection against dust and immersion, as well as resistance to high-pressure water jets.
The launch of the vivo X200T is expected for the last week of January, with a debut focused on the Indian market. The price positioning suggested by leaks places it in the range of 50,000 to 55,000 Indian Rupees (between 475 and 530 euros at the exchange rate).
It remains to be seen if and when this device will cross international borders to reach Europe, but the technical premises suggest it would be a formidable competitor in the mid-to-high end of the market.
