OPPO Reno 15 Pro 5G is born with a fairly clear objective: to bring some solutions typical of higher-end models inside a compact smartphone designed for heavy use in real-world contexts and often in environments that are not exactly acontrolled, such as trips, constant commuting and spontaneous content creation. And after using it as my main phone for several weeks, it9s evident that the brand has worked on overall balance, focusing on cameras, battery life, heat management and software stability.
In short, we are talking about a smartphone that does not aim to redefine its segment, but rather to interpret it in a pragmatic, dare I say practical way: manageable dimensions, a camera setup oriented to selfies, portraits and video, a generous battery supported by fast charging and a system that prioritizes fluidity and continuity over time. It is one of those phones that you truly understand only after a few days of use, when you stop considering only the technical specifications and start assessing how much daily activities are simplified c or not c.
The Reno series, for a few generations, has found its own recognizable aesthetic language. The concept is that of a premium smartphone but not particularly pariscente, with special attention to materials and finishes. The aerospace-grade aluminum frame provides that solidity you notice the moment you pick it up, and the monoblock glass back has a crafted look, with a play of light that changes with the lighting.
The most characteristic novelty of the series is the 50 MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100 field of view. In real use, this means group selfies without fighting over framing, without awkward arm reaches, and without necessarily needing an accessory. And while traveling, it could change the type of content you manage to capture.
Another sensible feature I found is AI Flash Photography 2.0: dual rear flash for softer, more natural light, plus a “+screen-front flash” to improve selfies in low light without turning you into a white ghost.

Molto comode anche altre due funzioni: Dual-View Video (davanti e indietro attivi insieme, perfetto per reazioni e storytelling) e Seamless Camera Switch, per passare da una camera allotra durante la registrazione senza tagli.
Very good videos too, which can be recorded in 4K at 60 fps with all cameras and deliver solid stabilization even in not-ideal lighting, thanks also to 4K HDR Ultra-Steady Video, which emphasizes vivid colors and wide dynamic range, but above all advanced stabilization for smooth footage even while walking or moving.
Under the hood we find the MediaTek Dimensity 8450, with AI HyperBoost 2.0 working to keep frame rates stable and temperatures under control, with a promise of up to 120 fps in the most popular titles. In my experience, this approach is the right one for a phone in this category: it isn9t built to chase extreme benchmark scores, but to be consistent, fluid and reliable.

And you can feel it especially in daily use: apps open quickly, multitasking is credible, little friction. Curious and appealing, for those who really play, the updated Game Capture feature saves the best moments as clips or dynamic Motion Photos in 1080P.
And it comes with a certain AI integration that is broad but not intrusive: AI features come into play when truly needed, especially in image and content management. Tools like AI Eraser remove unwanted objects or people from photos with convincing results, while AI-based enhancements help regain sharpness, correct reflections or fix imperfect shots without requiring complex manual intervention. Also interesting is the productivity angle, with synthesis, rewriting and contextual assistance tools accessible quickly, which are more handy in everyday life than at events demos.
Interesting is also O+ Connect: fast transfers between OPPO and iOS/iPadOS, plus mirroring and remote PC control on both macOS and Windows. It9s one of those features that not everyone will use, but if you work across multiple devices and want to avoid tedious steps, it signals openness nicely.
Google services integration is present too, including Circle and Search and Gemini support, as well as ecosystem-oriented solutions, with the possibility to share files quickly with iOS devices and interact more easily with Windows and macOS PCs.
Here are all the most important AI features:
AI Mind Space, activatable with a three-finger gesture, is one of the most practical ideas: a hub to capture and organize content from different apps, keeping everything in one space. If you9 someone who saves ideas, screenshots, notes and links while planning a trip or content, there9s real potential here.
Then there is the toolkit with AI Translate and AI Recording, and the privacy discussion with OPPO Private Computing Cloud, which on paper aims to ensure data protection.
On the creative side, two things I liked: AI Portrait Glow, which recovers difficult light situations (backlighting, underexposure, overexposure) with a more sthetically approach than aggressive, and Popout/AI Motion Photo Popout, which plays with layered compositions and small dynamic effects to make memories feel more alive.
Note instead a function mentioned but not yet available: AI Motion Photo Eraser, designed to remove unwanted objects from the entire clip with a tap. Good that it arrives, but for now I consider it a promise, not a real feature.
When it comes to battery and charging, OPPO proves itself again: Reno 15 Pro does not include the 6500 mAh of its smaller sibling, but uses a 6200 mAh cell that can deliver excellent endurance, aided by 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. So yes, as usual OPPO remains among the brands that excel in charging and battery life, but this is no longer a novelty.
OPPO Reno 15 Pro 5G is priced at 799.99 euros. From January 15 to February 28 there is a bundled promotion with Travel Case and Travel Tag, plus the choice between Enco Buds3 Pro or Power Bank. Also until February 28, you can sign up to the store to receive a 50-euro discount that lowers the Reno Pro price to 749.99 euros.
And it is a smartphone that can boast a few niceties: the 50 MP ultra-wide selfie is a smart and much more useful choice than it appears, and the 50 MP periscopic telephoto with 85 mm focal length really upgrades portrait quality, something many mid-to-high-end devices still struggle to offer. The generous battery and 80W complete a package that, especially when youe9e on the move, is convenient every single day.
However, it has a counterpoint: at this price the competition is very (very) intense, and you really need to appreciate OPPO approach (spoken social photography, portraits, vlogging, a more manageable format and plenty of autonomy) to choose it with confidence.
Anyway, the takeaway from Reno 15 Pro 5G is this: OPPO has attempted to build a phone coherent with its audience. Premium yet practical design, more manageable form factor, camera department truly oriented to selfies and portraits, video with storytelling-oriented features, significant autonomy, and software that aims for long-term fluidity.
