Realme Neo 8 is the first with Samsung Sky Display, delivering top-tier quality

We were expecting the unveiling of Realme Neo 8, but during today’s event the company announced Samsung’s Sky Display technology. The mid-range debut will take place in the coming days, but the real novelty is undoubtedly the display, a solution that promises top-tier quality in the mid-range — with high performance in every aspect.

During a social event, the company announced that Realme Neo 8 will be the first smartphone with Sky Display from Samsung. The panel is built with OLED M14 technology – which we will also see on the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra – and promises improved brightness (by 26%) and higher energy efficiency compared to the previous generation M13.

The smartphone features a flat AMOLED panel of 6.78″ diagonal with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The top area houses a 16 MP selfie camera, inside a central punch-hole.

The new Sky Display offers a wide brightness range, enabling top HDR performance in indoor environments and maximum readability outdoors under direct sunlight. It is said to reach 1,000 nits of maximum manual brightness, up to a peak of 6,500 nits.

Additionally, it is an LTPO solution capable of switching from a minimum of 1 Hz up to the maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. Thanks to the OLED M14’s energy efficiency, the screen consumes 16% less power than a display with the same characteristics at 144 Hz.

It also improves the panel’s durability, having passed TÜV Rheinland long-life tests (up to 1,500 hours). To top it off, Realme Neo 8 also features an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader, positioned under the screen.

Meanwhile the phone has been certified by TENAA: below you will find a collection of specifications, mixing leaked details and confirmations from the Chinese authority. Remember that Realme Neo 8 could launch outside China as Realme GT 8 (as seen previously), so it’s certainly a model to keep an eye on.
