It’s only a matter of hours and Xiaomi will finally lift the curtain on the new Redmi Turbo 5 and 5 Max, two mid-range models that promise style and top-tier performance at a decidedly attractive price. As anticipated on several occasions, the devices should debut here as POCO X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max. And there’s already talk of the inevitable compromise that will affect the Global version.
There’s no beating about the bush: our POCO X8 Pro should debut with a reduced-capacity battery, as is now customary in the transition from China to Europe (the issue concerns battery regulation). The Asian model will arrive with a 7,560 mAh unit on board, as confirmed by Xiaomi: for the Global version there are rumors of a cut of 1,000/1,500 mAh.
Our POCO is expected to come with a solution of 6,000/6,500 mAh, certainly respectable but the fact remains that the time has come to resolve the issue. Also because the real surprise will be POCO X8 Pro Max: the Chinese twin Redmi Turbo 5 Max is the brand’s first phone with 9,000 mAh, so we’re curious to see how it will be cut down in Europe.
In the meantime, a few hours from the launch, Redmi has revealed numerous details about the Turbo 5 model. Among these also the presence of the Dimensity 8500 chipset (freshly launched) but in the Ultra customized version.
